2 months + 2 weeks
Ellie had her 2 month checkup today as well as her first set of vaccination shots.
It’s truly amazing how fast she’s growing up in just a few weeks. Last month, her weight was at 3940g and her height was 52 cm. At today’s checkup, her weight is 5190g and her height, 56.4cm. That’s quite a lot of weight gain there!
She is definitely heavier. Carrying her around in the Baby Bjorn is no easy task these days, especially with the early onset of humidity and warm weather. I only notice her height increase when I hold her close to me. Her little body also extends quite a bit when she stretches too.
Ellie was also a very good girl when the doctor gave her her 2 shots. She cried at the moment the needle pierced her skin but was easy to calm down and within seconds she was back to normal. It definitely went a lot better than I had imagined. At the last checkup when they gave her the hep B shot, she cried like there was no tomorrow and I had to feed her in order to calm her down.
Her doctor also said that she is developing at a good pace and so that’s one less thing for me to worry about for now…..
Sometimes I’m really amazed at how much time has passed since I gave birth to her. I still remember how many people tell me that baby’s first year would pass by fast and I would have trouble believeing them. You can’t blame me though since Ellie was quite a handful when she was just born and time would really go by slowly when it was just me and her at home. These days, since I can go out with her, time goes by a lot faster and before you know it, she’s already at 2 months.
There’s also her smile….ever since she began smiling and laughing when awake, the moments with her are so much more precious. She still sleeps a lot but that’s fine with me since I know that it’s important that she gets as much rest as possible.
I love my little Ellie so much. She might be a bit difficult to please but it’s all worth it.
