I feel like I have been absent from the internet world in a while even though I’ve been at my computer for a few hours everyday. Strange….
Still, I feel like there’s much to catch up on. I haven’t gone through and read new posts on Google Reader yet. I clicked on it the earlier today and noticed I had 1000+ new posts to read…..I guess much has happened during the week I wasn’t doing my usual readings.
I also picked up two design projects to work on….gotta work on those…
So what have I been doing all this time then? I’ve rediscovered my love for crocheting and knitting and have discovered the world of amigurumi!
I first wanted to make a sunhat for Ellie since we lost the one we bought her. Then the obsession began…
I made this first…
Then, I realized that it’s not as intimidating as I thought so I went to Esty.com and found a few more cute patterns to make. That’s when I came out with the “Grr Hamster series”…
There’s a pattern for a hamster, a butt, and an octopus back there…all modified to be like Grr Hamster.
Then I found this sumo pattern and just had to make one.
He’s still a work in progress. I got distracted because it was my anniversay and I wanted to make this for Jason…
Of course, I had to go out and buy yarn to make all these things and boy did I buy a lot of yarn. In fact, I bought this one type that was too thin to use to make the dolls so I ended up joining Ravelry.com to look for more patterns to use the yarn for. This is what I found and made….
And it fits perfectly for the ruler of this household…
Cute, huh?
So yea, I’m still on my crocheting binge for now. If you want anything you see here but in a different color, let me know and I will make one for you too.
On Friday, June 19th, 2009 at 9:11pm, my sister gave birth to my first nephew, Zachary Shawn Chau Zheng!
He was 3 weeks early and completely ready to go! In fact, my sister didn’t even know she was in labor until the doctor told her at her 37 week checkup!
E falls asleep in a lot of really strange positions. The other day, J was holding her to calm her down. Within minutes, she fell asleep in the strange position he had her in…
E doesn’t like most of the toys I bought her. The only thing that really amuses her is this cloth book that makes crinkly sounds. For some odd reason, the crinkly sound can make her stop crying in an instant.
J, E and I went out to Odaiba yesterday to check out the 1:1 scale gundam that has been the talk of the town here. We were expecting to see a humongous gundam from far away but what we got was much smaller than we had hoped. It’s not tiny per se but still…we had higher hopes.
Actually, come to think of it, it’s probably at the correct size as the one portrayed in the gundam series. I mean, it’s suppose to be big enough to destroy things but yet small enough for a normal human being to climb into it and pilot it.
Anyway, here are some pictures taken with my sucky point and shoot camera…

E looking unhappy at the smallness of the gundam.
J said that the gundam looks like it’s just passing by behind us when this photo was taken.
And just in case the pictures aren’t enough, I even recorded a video…
