Being Thankful

Family, Life, Reflections

It’s Thanksgiving in the US this week.  Jason and I haven’t had an actual Thanksgiving with our families in a long time now but we keep them in our thoughts during this time of the year.  I’m really thankful that we have a good relationship with our families.

In fact, there’s a lot of things that I’m thankful for this year.

I’m thankful for Jason.  He makes me laugh all the time and I wake up every morning knowing that life is that much better with him around.  I don’t think I could’ve chosen a better man to grow old with.

Not to mention, he is a wonderful dad to E.  He even shares his desserts with her :)

I’m thankful for E.  She is the reason why we work so hard to become better people.  Without her, our lives would be so mundane.  She is a little bundle of madness and does so many things that I can never understand yet her presence lights up both Jason’s and my life.

She reminds me of Jason so much.

I’m thankful for my family, both my own and for Jason’s. Our families have stood by us with every decision we’ve made and have never hesitated to offer their help when we were in trouble.  Without their love and support, we wouldn’t have made it so far in life as good, happy people.  I just hope that E turns out as well as we did.  I really miss our families during this time of the year but I’m also really looking forward to seeing them for Christmas and New Year’s this year.

I’m thankful for my friends, both in real life and in my blog world.  I’m not the most outgoing person in the world so I really treasure the friendships that I have.  I feel very blessed to have such a great group of friends who lend their support and are there for me when I need them.   You guys are the best and I am very lucky to have you in my life.  Thanks for being my friend :)

I’m thankful for my health and for my family’s health. Health problems are always depressing.  This year has been quite trying for us because of Jason’s condition but we’ve stayed hopeful and things are improving.  I’m really thankful that he’s doing a lot better these days.

I’m thankful for all the everyday little things in our life. The housework, the public transportation, the meals we share, etc….we do them every single day so it’s easy to take them forgranted but they are the things that make our lives comfortable and happy.

I’m thankful for my life.  I have lived a very good and interesting life and I am thankful for all the opportunities as well as all the failures I’ve experienced.  I don’t think I would ever trade this life for a fancier one.  I have an awesome life.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you in the US!  Hope you guys enjoy your Thanksgiving with your families! :)

this was such a sweet post Jen
    your family is so precious
i can feel your happiness and gratitude

i want to tell you that a coworker of mine
is married to a lady from Japan
i took some of those wonderful caramels
    that you sent me and
told him i’d like to give them to her

today she stopped by the office to see her husband
and she came to my door
and in such a sweet, gentle and shy way she told me
that she was so happy to get those candies
it brought back so many memories of her home

i am so thankful for your sharing
and that i could share them with her.
so not only did you make me happy with your gift
you made someone have warm memories of home.

    HUGS xxxx ~victoria~
