“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.”
These two were playing with the little plastic toy cars that came with their kids meal while we waited for the bus. Good thing they were cheap little toys because K lost hers while we were on the bus. It was a fun distraction while it lasted though!
It’s really hot and humid lately. E started attending summer school which meant that on days when K was at daycare, I had time to myself to get things done around the house.
On the weekends, we’ve been going to splash pools to cool off. The kids love playing in the water, which is actually not too deep so it makes it more fun for them. I wish I could join them in my swimsuit but there’s no real changing area for adults since these are technically water fountains at the local parks. It’s still pretty fun getting my feet wet with them.
Four more weeks left before the new school year starts. This year is going to be an interesting one since E is leaving for Japanese elementary in April. We begin the application process in October. Entering the Japanese public school system is a whole new world to us so I hope it will go smoothly. I just hope E will have a smooth transition into the new environment with new faces. Not to mention it’s also going to be a primarily Japanese speaking environment, which will be tough for her since she’s lost a lot of her Japanese language skills since she started at her current international school. We’ll see what happens when the time comes…
