This site was originally started by me as a way of introducing the hamster clan. Over time, things changed and this site was neglected for a while, especially since I had another blog to maintain.

Now that baby hamster has arrived, I have decided I wanted to restart this blog….partially as it’s original concept and partially as a mommy blog to record all those moments of baby hamster’s growth.

Ma and Pa Hamster

Ma and Pa Hamster….also known to the human world as Jen and Jason.

We were friends for a long time, then we began dating and eventually got married on June 24th, 2006.

Soon afterwards, the two of us packed as much as we can carry and moved several thousand miles to the land of the rising sun where we currently reside. How long we’ll be here? Nobody knows….

After 2 years of peace and quiet, ma and pa found out that they will be expecting a new addition to their large family of hamsters. 9 months later….

Baby Hamster

Baby hamster…aka. Ellie, was born March 4, 2009.

Her 9 months in ma was quite an adventure. Because of all the unexpected issues that came up at the end of the pregnancy, baby hamster was born 2 weeks earlier than expected. Her birth itself was also quite a thrill ride.

Some believe that she is a hamster reborn into human form so that she can one day lead the rest of the hamster clan. She is still quite young and has much to learn…

Hamsters?

Yo! This website was created so that we can spread hamster joy to everyone! We think that hamster websites that are in English are very rare (most of them are in Japanese) and we wanted to share with everyone the joys of hamster life! We hope you like our website!

A little bit about what hamsters are…

We are quite popular in Japan. The people who created us are the nice people at Tryworks. Our actual name is Kapibara-san but our mommy and daddy think we look more like hamsters. Daddy also thinks that hamster sounds cuter than kapibara so they began to call us hamsters.

The first hamster was discovered by mommy at an arcade. That hamster is portable hamster. Daddy didn’t notice how cute we were until they bought a hamster (big brother look alike) for mommy’s cousin for Christmas. Since that day, daddy couldn’t stop thinking about how cute we were so mommy bought him one too! :3

Since that day, mommy and daddy slowly began to collect many, many more different types of hamsters. It started out a little slow since hamsters were still being discovered but today, we have so many hamsters that we’ve taken over the bed! These days, our mommy and daddy are always on a lookout for new hamsters to adopt. Hopefully when baby hamster (who is in mommy’s tummy) is born, the hamster family will continue to grow!

The Hamster clan

They are the beloved hamster children of ma and pa hamster.

Discovered during their time in Japan, ma and pa fell in love with the adorable hamsters and their soft fur. Since their discovery, ma and pa have added many more members to their growing family.

These hamster kids are well loved and well traveled since ma and pa bring them when they travel (a few at a time, of course). They are also very protective of baby hamster and are always watching out for her.

These are not all the hamsters in the clan….the clan grows more and more every month, especially when ma and pa go out in search of new hamsters….
